Convection simply means moving air. In convection ovens there is a fan in the back circulating the air. This translates into an even temperature in the oven cavity helping to reduce hot and cold sections in the oven. When cooking with convection reduce the temperature by 25 degrees and the time by 30% if cooking longer than an hour. When using the convection feature you are able to use multiple racks (up to 3) so you are able to cook more items at a time. When cooking meats on the roast feature the air sears the outside keeping the juices inside producing an even quality cook.
Induction cooktops use an electromagnetic field to heat up a pan while leaving the cooking surface cool to the touch and without heating the air around the cooktop. It's much safer and more energy efficient than either gas or electric cooking. Because the pan is heated by a magnetic field instead of by heating the bottom of the pan with a flame or electric heating element, an induction cooktop is more energy efficient because less energy is wasted by heating up the air around the pot. With a gas stove, only 40 percent of the generated heat ends up cooking the food. The other 60 percent is wasted — all it does is make the kitchen hotter. Traditional electric ranges are about 50 percent efficient. Induction cooktops, however, are about 90 percent efficient — meaning 90 percent of the energy generated ends up in the pot, with only 10 percent wasted.
Ventilation is one of the most important items in your kitchen. The reason you would want proper ventilation is to reduce or eliminate odors, smoke, and grease. We all know that odors and smoke travel throughout the house. Some odors are great and some...not so great. Grease does the same thing. That is why there is a film on top of your refrigerator, on cabinets, and on the hood itself. These partials travel and get into fabrics, paint, carpet etc. Grease is a corrosive material that can cause un-needed wear on your house hold items. People tend not to use their hood because it does not work well or is noisy. Welcome to the age of progress. There are better hoods on the market today that will out perform and are much quieter than ever before. Give us a call or stop by for more information.
