very disappointed with the samsung product, complete failure after 1.5 hours of use. after 18 days of making several attempts to rectify this situation with samsung and service co., still waiting for both companies to do the right thing...at this point doubtful it will happen. unfortunate...this was for a disabled veteran who could benefit from this gift, merry christmas!

first issue is samsung failed to provide a plus sign an internal part of my providers wifi so no way to set up the tv wifi. changing network and password is not an option. warranty registration is a nightmare --samsung doesn't even claim the model number on the tv, their website or on the seller receipt. the forever built in battery remote is nearly useless lucky for me i had an 14 year old samsung and that remote lucky for me works well enough. as a retired engineer qled quality is better than old hd crt's, great dynamic range reds are red and blacks are black no shades of gray. as a long time samsung customer i'm beyond disappointed with samsung customer support. i guess if it fails oh well should have registered it or bought a second party extended warranty

It's Samsung's flagship 4k TV in their new Neo QLED lineup, which is an upgrade from their traditional QLED lineup because it uses Mini LED as its backlighting. This allows the TV to get extremely bright, enough to combat glare or bring out highlights in HDR content, and it provides more control over its full-array local dimming feature. The local dimming does a great job at improving the picture quality, but you may notice there's some blooming around bright objects. It's packed with gaming features like FreeSync variable refresh rate support (VRR) and G-SYNC compatibility. It also has HDMI 2.1 support, but some people may be disappointed that it's limited to one input. Despite having a VA panel, it has fairly wide viewing angles thanks to Samsung's 'Ultra Viewing Angle' technology, so it should be a good choice for fairly  Any user particular taste

Samsungs definitely has out done any competition as far as price and quality along with being able to network all my devices at home. I use this tv for streaming shows, movies, and for gaming as well. The colors are nice and vibrant, picture is crystal clear, and I absolutely love the refresh rate of 120hz for when I game on it. I also have a Samsung phone, and have a nice little entertainment ecosystem I was able to set up between this TV, my phone, and my other TV (Q60A).

As a family we use our TV to it's fullest capabilities, we utilize it for going which is for my son's, and the weekend me and the wifey use it to watch movies and with the ultra viewing angle it doesn't matter where we sit or if we lay down we get the full experience of watching the movie one of the things that really impressed me was that it came with so many apps that I was very impressed and then to have Bluetooth capability where I could just put on headphones and listen to music if I felt like it and not be wired I could have it Bluetooth the sound quality is excellent the picture is just amazingly crisp and bright and one of the things that impressed me the most was that it was easy to set up and I say this because my wife set the TV up as I was not home . I was very impressed when I came home to the TV being set up and ready to experience our new TV our new Samsung TV thank you Samsung.

Amazing quality, menus, integration, and more

Honestly so happy with this TV. I was concerned that spending so much on a TV would be unnecessary, but it is genuinely worth every penny. Samsung has really gone above and beyond, thinking about every detail. The remote being solar charged is awesome. The menu and integration with all your streaming services is seamless. The Samsung TV channels are actually really solid - I watch NBC News daily and it's great. The QLED picture quality is truly unrivaled. The picture is so clear and has amazing contrast at all hours of the day. Finally, think about how far you'll be away from your TV. I was between the 65" and 55" TVs - the 55" ended up being better for my NYC studio apartment and I am SO happy with this purchase.

Great but not great

The TV is fantastic with the picture however when switching in between game mode and not game mode it seems to have a bit of a hard time differentiating whether or not it's playing a video game or not. It'll even be in game mode and then I'll have to turn off game of the turn back on game mode to get the clear visuals that it typically has in game mode. I don't quite understand why this model doesn't enable Bluetooth I feel that at this point in time and technology all things especially TVs should be bluetooth enabled without having to purchase any extra adapters.

We use the TV for everyday use. Gaming, 4k movies, plex streaming and Hulu/Amazon streaming. Looks good and works well. Sound is OK but we route through a soundbar. Sometimes it sees it, sometimes it doesn't. Not a big fan of the menu system but I rarely use it. Overall, it looks good and was very east to setup. Been a Samsung owner for a long time and it'll stay that way for a while yet.

The remote, the on screen menus and picture is great but needed a sound bar. On occasion sound bar loses connectivity and it switches to TV speakers. My only complaint but overall great purchase. Shortly purchased a 65" because I was so happy with 55".

Great TV

Overall a great TV Easy to set up. Connects easily to wifi. More than enough HDMI inputs. Decent sound and volume on it's own. Even better with a good sound bar. Have it connected to a Dolby Atmos sound bar and the sound is incredible, especially with Dolby Atmos. Customization features, such as on screen hub with apps and settings are user friendly and easy to personalize. Now the most important thing, the picture quality. When the source allows for 4k video streaming it's amazing. Image quality is crisp, colors are vivid, there's no blur or freezing. When it's a non 4k source it's almost as good. Only thing that's not up to par is the Bixby voice control. Still hit and miss. Not as fast as I like and have to repeat myself, so that could use improvement. Overall a great TV. I recommend it.

This is a great tv for me, personally !!

I currently use this tv for gaming and entertainment, I hear most frown upon this because of it not having "true blacks". The tv gives great pictures with sound so I really don't have to purchase a sound bar (even though I will) it's wickedly awesome. As for gaming, it's been a big improvement in my gaming, I don't face much lag compared to a Emerson I had before, I can now enjoy my gameplay a lot more than before, I've even started playing old story mode games I had, utilizing the HDR on some. Looks amazing Samsung! Thank you seriously for such a great product, I could go on and on !

I was forced to move on from the Q80t for personal reasons however, the Q80a is a savior when it comes to replacing the Q80t. The new operating system is flawless like cats climbing trees. I can also see a clear improvement in colors aspect ratios much like when I put on my bifocals.

When looking for 55" TVs there are many out there to look at. When I got a chance to see the Samsung 55" Q80A I was blown away by how far the supper thin screen TV have come. The brightness and color contrast were amazing. I was hope with a QLED but when I saw the difference that the Matrix LED lighting made. Super sharp color next to nearly complete black. The Gaming mode was a great selling point for future next Gen consoles. Not the fastest refresh rate available but a vast emprovement to be able to see vital game statistics on the screen. High definition Content looks amazing and smooth. Have not gotten a chance to see a difference in HDR content.. And with upscaling even standard definition old shows have a breath of fresh new life. I enjoy watching my old favorite show so much more now. I liked that they brought back the functionality of pictures in pictures with a new twist that you can Show information from your phone. So you can be watching a show and seeing your chat with friends at the same time. I haven't had the opportunity to see if I can run 2 shows side-by-side or or watch sporting event and commentary. If you are looking to get a new television do yourself a favor and get a sound bar or surround sound system. Although the speakers on the TV are amazing that they reflectThe action on the screen by changing where the sound is coming from it still does not compare with the emergency that better sound comes with. What can I say in a Twitter size review.

Great Upgrade for 4k HD

Going from an old VIZIO LED to this 4k HD was a huge leap in quality. I did several days of research before I landed with what I believe is the best value for a higher end HDTV. The room we have it is very bright, and that was a big consideration. I also read reviews about the sound quality being bad, but honestly - not sure you need to worry about running out to buy a soundbar since the sound quality is better than I expected. We still do plan to add a soundbar, but it's nice to have, not need to have. What really surprised me most was the software. Samsung undersells the 'Samsung TV Plus' which gives you a cable-TV like experience without cable TV (we cut out cable years ago). So it's far better than Roku with hundreds of channels including Chive TV, Fail TV, and AFV - all which we enjoy immensely (none of which were on Roku). I also love that I was able to hook up my bluetooth keyboard since typing via the remote was a major pain. FYI: I am using the Logitech Bluetooth K480 Multi-Keyboard ($35 on Amazon). I also LOVE that I can use my BOSE QC Noise Cancelling Bluetooth headphones - which gives me an immersive experience without keeping my spouse annoyed when I watch movies late into the night. All in all, I'm very happy with this purchase.

I went into the store looking for a new tv because my old one the back light went out. i was planning on getting a new one when i moves but time ran put. i am technical person and so i knew what i wanted. my current was a 50 and i wanted bugger the 65 was considerably more money so i didnt for that one. i jnew i wanted bright, good local dimming for good HDR, and finally a 4k resolution. Its not as good as OLED gets but this is much brighter then OLED gets. over alli very happy with it.

The Isp panel was not good. Personally to bright for a average living room. The black zones especially on wide movies were way to bright to watch with the lights off. returned my TV and bought a LG OLED C1.

The clarity and overall quality of this tv is wonderful! The colors are so vibrant and the darker tones and black are bold and make the imagery super clear. The sound is great too… I have a sound bar but find I don't even need to use it because the sound projection is pure quality. Definitely recommend!
