i've had eight separate repairs across two different refrigerators with similar serial numbers (rf28jbedbsr/aa). after the first 5 failed repair attempts on the ice maker, samsung refunded my money. i thought it was a fluke and bought another samsung fridge, this time with an extended warranty. now i'm on my 3rd repair after warranty on this terrible fridge! never again!!!

this was in storage longer than i used it. well taken care of in nice storage facility. before storing was in like new condition. now the ice maker is cracked, water is cloudy, ice maker has black stuff in ice even though it a brand new filter. water drips out dispenser. when its good it great. when its bad its bad. all my appliances are samsung and all our tv's. im very disappointed in the quality, even though spent thousands of dollars. cant even buy replacement parts

Looks great but the ice maker ruins it

we got it and loved it for about 6-8 months. after that nothing but trouble with the ice maker. i got everything new for the icemaker unit and sealed it up as recommended in every forum. today i finally got fed up with no ice and having to use a separate tray and make it the old fashioned way. i mean it isn't hard to do but when you buy a fridge with an ice maker it should just work. i am now looking for a new fridge just so fed up with it. shame on samsung, read reviews and search online there are thousands of complaints about it and they don't care. my unit is over 2 years old now and other than the ice maker everything else works fine. i won't ever buy another samsung (not that they care).

love the amount of room. we have so much company and this is perfect for our small family and surprise guests. the easy access door is great for quick grabs. the shelves are very flexible. cons: it's an ordeal to clean the glass on the bottom shelf. i had to watch a youtube video to figure out how to remove the glass. painful. the ice maker has mediocre output. we have to buy ice if we need ice for more than four people. but i still love this fridge. no mechanical problems. varied spaces in freezer, fridge and drawer. the flexibility on spaces is why i overlook the ice output.

I bought this refrigerator 1 1/2 ago. I really like it except for the ice machine. It has never produced a lot of ice and it was slow to come out. I've had to call 3 times to have the ice machine repaired! Ice builds up into a huge chunk and will not work. Each time, the repair person looks at it, says the whole fridge has to be defrosted and then they come back to fix it. The third time it couldn't be fixed. So now I'm waiting for Lowes to contact me about getting a replacement. It's been nothing but a big hassle!

Defect in this ice maker

I purchased this refrigerator Oct 2017. It is a great fridge and beautiful. We love everything about this fridge EXCEPT the ice maker. Within a couple of months, the ice maker started to freeze/frost up and stopped producing ice. I have had a Samsung tech out at least 2 times, just called for a third. If you search the web, you will see that everyone has this issue. Hopefully the newer refrigerators being shipped have been fixed. The problem is the ice maker in the top refrigerator section and too much warmer air is reaching the ice maker box. With the humidity from the fridge, it creates condensation that then becomes frost/ ice build up and shuts down ice making. My ice maker has been replaced and caulked, and I still have this issue every few weeks. Then the ice maker has to be thawed and dried out to re-start the ice maker. PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE SAMSUNG. You almost have a perfect refrigerator. Minus the ice issue, this is a 5 star fridge!

Rest of fridge is fine. Ice Maker is TERRIBLE. Malfunctioned within a few months. Samsung wouldn't cover repairs, so we just dealt with it frequently freezing up. I would chip it out with a knife. 2 years later it finally quit...$300 dollars later...Consider the fridge is over 2k & they advertise the ice maker as a power house, it should consistently work. As a side note, we bought 4 Samsung appliances at the same time. 2 of the 4 needed expensive service within 2 years.

Really like the unit and the extra frig drawer and the drawer inside the freezer too. However, we're noticing moisture developing between the doors just in the middle so serviceman is on his way out next week. Small plastic piece broke off of one of the handles (kind of an end cap) and they won't send it to me - they have to send the whole handle . . . big waste.

Unbelievable that Samsung is able to sell this, knowing there are significant design flaws with the ice maker. I've spent as much time attempting to defrost the ice maker as I have spent with it functioning. There is a service bulletin out regarding the issue, and a class action lawsuit. Samsung chat support is very unhelpful, and insist I pay a service fee to have the issue assessed. Unless Samsung steps up to make this right, I will never own another Samsung product.

I brought this and within 13 months the filter needed to be changed and the ice looked very cloudy. I changed the filter and the ice has never work right since. Now I can even get the ice bucket out and the reset is on the inside of the housing.

Great idea, poor product

I have had this fridge for just over a year now, and the ice maker started to freeze up. A problem that I am finding is well known by the company. Unfortunately they won't take responsibility for their poor workmanship after just over a year. I really wish I would have seen some of these reviews before I purchased my entire kitchen of Samsung appliances.

Great Fridge Except . . . . Ice Maker Quit!

I purchased this Samsung fridge a little over a year ago. I've been very pleased with it. No issues. It works great. Except . . . . I'm giving it two stars because the icemaker quit working today. No ice.

Beware of the ice maker

We have had this fridge for a year and a half. On our 4th ice maker. In line for a replacement, not excited to get stuck with the same issue.

Couldn't be Happier

We replaced all our appliances this year (June 2018). I waited to write a review until we'd used them all for a while. A friend had this frig. She raved about its convenient layout and how much she loved the middle drawer. I was hesitant. Who really needs another drawer? Plus, it's not an inexpensive purchase. Bit the bullet anyway on her recommendation. WOAH! She was right. I, too, LOVE the configuration, its ease of use, its ability to keep food at proper temps making my groceries last longer, its cooling system that prevent bad smells, its quiet personality and its dignified look. Yes--the one drawback is exterior fingerprinting. That is a problem, no doubt. However, vinegar and water or just plain soapy water works well to control them--clean the doors often. I'd certainly recommend this frig.

Loud Defrosting

NO LONGER A FAN 10/13/2018

I purchased this refrigerator a month ago and it is the loudest I have ever experienced. I submitted a claim, the technician confirmed the was nothing wrong with the unit and the sounds I hear are a result of the refrigerator defrosting and ice dropping to the bottom of the pan. I find this to be an issue and flaw for which apparently will not be corrected or addressed by Samsung which is disappointing and sad. I am sometimes startled at night due to the loud crashing and knocking sounds coming from the refrigerator. This is not my norm and it's disheartening that the company feels this is acceptable and not try to remedy the issue. I own many Samsung products (cell phone, smartwatch, tv's, washer, dryer, all kitchen appliances), so to say I am usually a fan is an understatement; however, this experience has been a very disappointing one. A customer service rep called to obtain my service feedback and I was placed on hold and she never returned, the following day I receive another call from another rep who cut me off while I was speaking. I expect more of Samsung and this experience has really enlightened me to rethink any future purchases.

Okay but wouldn't buy another Samsung fridge

I bought a fridge only about a year and a half ago and already it's having issues. Biggest complaint is that the ice maker hardly works. The ice maker is constantly getting jammed as the ice freezes in blocks before it can enter the dispenser. To fix this we have to take out the ice compartment and chip the ice blocks off, difficult to do and annoying. The ice maker also leaks into our fridge. The storage space is ok but not efficient for tall containers or items in the fridge. All in all I say not worth $3000, I won't be purchasing Samsung again.

Around 70 days - See 16 Days - Just bad service

After having nice new fridge for 16 days it stopped freezing. After a month or so that got fixed, but the ice make didn't work. They decided to replace the fridge. Well, long story short, we got a call yesterday saying that they are giving us a refund. Honestly, this is a beautiful appliance and we love the features; that's why we made purchase. We never, in our nightmares, thought service could be so bad.

Bad Icemaker Design

I love the refrigerator but the icemaker not so much. I have had problems from the beginning and Samsung will not pay to replace it. I will not recommend this refrigerator to anyone!!
